VERMICELLI PAYASAM OR SAMIYA PAYASAM
INDIAN PAYASAM RECIPE
Vermicelli payasam or Samiya payasam ingredients:1. Samiya – 1 cup 2. Milk – 2 cups 3. Ghee – 3 tsp 4. Cardamom powder – a pinch 5. Sugar – ¾ cup or to taste 6. Cashew nuts – 5 7. Kismis – 7 (dry grapes) 8. Pista - 4 (optional) 9. Badam - 4 (optional)
Samiya Payasam Preparation:Take a heavy bottomed pan and add milk.
Bring it to boil for 10 mins.
Then add roasted samiya.
Stir well and cook on low flame for few mins.
When the samiya looks sticky add sugar and stir until sugar dissolves.
Finally add cardamom powder, cashew nuts and kismis.
Remove from heat and payasam is ready.
Serve hot.
Note:
Roast the vermicelli(samiya) in one tsp of ghee till it becomes to golden yellow colour.
Keep it aside.
