Thalagam

Thalagam or thalakuzhambu

Thalagam or thalakuzhambu Inredients:

Potatoes 1 small cut in squares
Yam , 6 to 7 small square pieces
carrots diced 1 small
Brinjal 1 small cut to pieces
Red pumpkin 6 to 7 small pieces
Raw banana i small cut to small pieces
Peas half cup
Tamarind one lemon sized ball
Red gram dal 1 tbs
Red chllies 6 to 7
Coconut grated 1 cup
Rice 1 tbs
Sesame seeds 2 tbs
Turmeric 1 tsp
salt as required
Jaggery 1 small piece

Thalagam or thalkuzhambu Method:

Soak Tamarind in water. squeeze . Keep aside.

Take 1 spoon of sesame oil in a kadai.

Fry red gram dal red chillies and coconut into golden.

Grind into a fine paste using water.Keep aside.

Dry roast rice and sesame to golden Keep aside.

Take a kadai Squeeze the tamrind in two cups of water.

Bring it to a boil till the raw smell disappears.

Add the cut vegetables,turmeric powder & salt.

Let it cook on a low flame.

When done add the ground wet paste and the jaggery.

Simmer for a few minutes.

Now add the dry powder. mix well.

Season with mustard curry leaves & red chillies.

Serve hot with jaggery kali.
