Potato chickpeas curry
Potato chickpeas curry ingredients:1. Potato - 4 2. Chickpeas - 1 cup (cooked) 3. Onion - 1 (medium size) 4. Tomato - 1 (medium size) 5. Chilli powder - 1/2 tsp 6. Coriander powder - 1/2 tsp 7. Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp 8. Salt - to taste 9. Oil - 1/2 tbsp 10. Few curry leaves 11. Few coriander leaves
Paste ingredients:1. Shreded coconut - 1/2 cup 2. Garlic flakes - 3 3. Ginger - 1" piece 4. Green chilli - 2
Aloo with chickpeas curry preparation:Soak the chickpeas for over night and cook till they turn soft.
Finely chop the onion, tomato and keep aside.
Peel the potatoes and cut into 2" cubes.
Make a paste with paste ingredients.
Take a deep pan and heat with oil.
Add mustard seeds and curry leaves.
Then add chopped onions and saute for 5 mins.
Then add tomatoes and salt.
Saute till they turn into juicy.
Now add the ground paste and saute till the raw smell disappears or the oil separates from the mixture.
Now add chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, cubed potatoes and cooked chickpeas.
Combine well and add a cup of water.
Cook on medium low flame till the potatoes become tender.
Finally garnish with coriander leaves and remove from flame.
Now your easy and tasty potato chickpeas curry (aloo chickpeas kurma)is ready to serve.
Serve hot with rice, roti, paratha, etc,,,
