MASALA POWDERS

Many ingredients are used in the form of masala powders to get the flavour and taste in Indian cooking. Some of the ingredients used are coriander, turmeric, cumin, fenugreek, fennel seed, clove, mustard seed, black pepper, cinnamom etc.
The spicies are ground and mixed in certain proportion to get powder, which was used in cooking. Some of the famous powders are Sambar powder, rasam power, curry powder (garam masala) etc. Some powders are used diretly to the main dish like rice or idly / dosas.
Almost all Indian homes have these powders made and kept ready to be used while cooking.
