AVAL PAYASAM OR RICE FLAKES KHEER
INDIAN DESSERT RECIPE
Aval payasam or rice flakes payasam ingredients:1. Milk – 2 cups 2. Aval or rice flakes or attukulu – ¼ cup 3. Sugar – ¾ cup or to taste 4. Cashew nuts – 5 5. Kismis - 5 6. Badam - 4 (optional) 7. Pista - 4 (optional) 8. Cardamom - 2
Rice Flakes Payasam Preparation:Clean and wash the rice flakes.
Drain all the water completely.
Take a heavy bottomed pan and pour milk and boil in a low flame.
Boil till it reduces to half of the quantity.
Now add the rice flakes and stir for few seconds.
Then add sugar and stir until sugar dissolves.
Finally add cardamom powder.
Remove from heat.
Garnish with pista, badam, kismis and cashew nuts.
Attukulu payasam is ready.
Serve hot.
Note:
Roast badam, pista, kismis and cashew nuts in ghee.
Then broken into small pieces.
Roast the cardamoms in ghee and powder it.
